Graveside services for former Lusk resident Otto Charles Knittle of Minden, Neb., were held today, Jan. 27, 1993, at 11 a.m. at Ft. McPhearson at Maxwell, Neb., with Rev. Bob Townsend officiating. Military honors were provided by the North Platte Honor Guard.

Knittle died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1993, at Bethany Home in Minden, Neb. He was born Dec. 11, 1922, at Lusk, Wyo., the son of Frank Otto Knittle and Nellie May (Swanson) Knittle. He grew to manhood at Lusk where he attended school.

He worked as a carpenter before serving in the army from 1942 to 1945. He served in the European Theater. Following his discharge, he worked as an electrician and operated a small appliance shop in Lusk before going to work for the U. S. Postal Service as a clerk in 1958. He retired in 1978.

On Aug. 20, 1978, he married Catherine May (Tobey) Juzbera at the Church of God in Lusk. They moved to Wilcox, Neb., in October 1990 and he became a resident of the Franklin Nursing Center later that month. He moved to the Bethany Home in Minden in January 1991.

He was a past member of American Legion Post in Lusk.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1959, his mother in 1960, sisters, Ona, Caroline Shooyer and step-grandson William Juzbera.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy, four stepsons, Gary, William, James and Jerry and one stepdaughter, Angie Beethe, all of Nebraska; a brother, Albert of Cheyenne; a sister, Mabel Milburn of Woodburn, Ore., 22 step-grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Banta-Torrey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
