H. P. Klemke Pioneer Resident Dies Saturday

Funeral service for Helmuth P. Klemke, 82, a pioneer resident who died Saturday was being held this Wednesday at Peet Chapel with Rev. Beauferd Anderson officiating. Mrs. Sigmund Hahn, organist, was accompanying Debbie Akers, Kathy Doctor and Robert Doctor as they sang "Stand Up, Stand Up, For Jesus" and "Rock of Ages." Casket bearers are Walter Reed, John Jassman, H. E. Hansen, Albert Ruffing, Otto Krekeler and W. L. Magoon. Burial is in the Lusk cemetery with military service being conducted by Weiten Dupes Post #4. Memorials of the donors choice have been established.

Helmuth P. Klemke was born December 7, 1892, at Hemingford, Neb., the son of Constantine and Martha Dobkowitz Klemke. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Mr. Klemke homesteaded five miles northwest of Lusk in 1914 and was a cattle rancher for over 60 years. He was an expert horse trainer. He entered military service during World War I and received his discharge in 1938. Mr. Klemke was a 56 year member of the American Legion. He was hospitalized August 17.

Mr. Klemke is survived by five brothers, Otto Klemke, Walter Klemke, Henry Klemke and Joe Klemke of Lusk, and Albert Klemke of Hemingford, Neb.; three sisters Martha Plymate of Gladstone, Ore., Ida Lamb, Mesa, Ariz., and Elsie Rogowski, Hemingford, Neb.; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
