Local youth dies Monday
A 16-year-old Manville youth died early Monday morning from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to law enforcement reports.
The Niobrara County Sheriff's Department and the Lusk/Niobrara Ambulance Service responded to a call just before 11 a.m. at the Dick Ladwig home three miles north of Manville. Brian Ladwig, son of Richard and Lois Ladwig, was transported to Niobrara County Memorial Hospital and then flown by Flight For Life to Wyoming Medical Center where he died following surgery.
The circumstances of the incident are not being released at this time because the case in under investigation by the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon in Lusk. For a complete obituary see page 3.
Services for Brian A. Ladwig set for Thursday
Funeral services for Brian A. Ladwig, 16, will be Thursday, Oct. 29, 1992, at 3 p.m. in the Niobrara County High School Auditorium in Lusk with Dan Anderson of the Lusk L.D.S. Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Dellview Cemetery in Manville.
Ladwig died Monday, Oct. 26, 1992, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper as a result of an accidental gunshot wound. He was born Jan. 23, 1976, at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., the son of Richard and Lois Ladwig.
At the time of his death, he was a sophomore at Niobrara County High School in Lusk where he had been active in band and basketball. He attended his first years of school at the Douglas School System at Ellsworth AFB where he was active in band and soccer. He loved reading, riding his horse, hunting and spending time with his many friends, both young and old.
He is survived by his parents of Manville, one brother, Richard, of Lusk; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Mildred Ladwig; maternal grandparents, John and Wyona Overman and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
