Betty Leimser

Funeral services for Betty Leimser, age 74, were held Saturday, April 16, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Rev. Del Cowley officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Leimser died Wednesday, April 13, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

She was born May 27, 1919, in Indianola, Neb. the daughter of Albert and Hazel McKiney Webb. The family moved to Lusk In 1935, and Betty graduated from Lusk High School in 1936.

Betty married Paul Morgan on August 15, 1936, in Harrison, Neb. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1980. Betty married Dale Leimser on December 4, 1982

Betty worked at Midwest Hardware, the Lusk Herald, and the Lusk State Bank before purchasing the Branding Iron Gift Shop in March 1970. She operated the shop until the time of her death.

Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lusk where she served as a Deaconess, a member of the Pulpit Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees, as Church Treasurer, and in various other positions.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Lusk having served as past Noble Grand of the local lodge and also served as district president.

Betty was a member of the steering committee to start the Niobrara Senior Center, serving as secretary of the committee and on the Board for the Senior Center early in its existence.

Survivors include her husband Dale Leimser of Lusk; three daughters, Kay Smith of Ft. Collins, Colo., Sandra Bray and husband Fletcher of Chandler, Ariz., and Bonnie Nelson and husband Duane of Lusk; one step son David Leimser and his wife Diane of Lusk; one step daughter, Joanne Jackson of Casper, Wyo.; eight grandchildren, Brett Smith and wife Elaine of Brigham City, Utah; David Smith and wife Julie of Fort Collins, Colo.; Bruce Smith and wife JoDee of Kimball, Neb.; Ronald Nelson of Wheatland, Kent Nelson and wife Deb of Casper; Kimberly Hazlett and husband Dave of Fort Morgan, Colo.; Fletcher Bray, Jr. of Chandler, Ariz.; Deirdre Root and husband Grant of Dayton, Ohio; four step-grandchildren, Todd Leimser, of Lusk, Shawn Leimser , Jennifer and Christopher Jackson all of Casper; seven great-grandchildren, Adam, Alyssa, and Landon Smith of Kimball, Neb., Megan and Tori Smith of Fort Collins, Colo., Keffany and Chase Nelson of Casper; one sister, Alice Brush and husband of Lubbock, Texas, and one brother Ross Webb of Senora, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

For those who wish, memorials to the First Baptist Church or to the Senior Center in Lusk will be appreciated by the family.

Bader Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
