Alma Grace Lemons

Alma Lemons, age 70, of Lusk passed away on March 20, 2005 in the afternoon at her home in Lusk. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on March 24, 2005 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lusk with Reverend Darren Pflueghoeft officiating. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Alma Grace (Klemke) Lemons was born May 3, 1934 to Walter Leo (Doc) and Nora Tweedy Klemke in Lusk. She was raised on the family homestead near Lusk where her parents had a dairy farm. She completed twelve years of school in Lusk. She went to work at the Spencer Hospital for Dr. Reckling as a Nurse's Aid for 13 years. She also worked 13 years for the Lusk Herald. She met, and later married Earnest Rae Lemons in Torrington on April 5, 1953. This union was blessed with three children, Roger Rae, Cynthia Kae, and Earnest Leon. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2003.

Alma enjoyed square dancing, bowling, cards, crafts, gardening and her family and friends. She was a member at large of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Leona Wallace and Helen DeGering.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years; sons Roger of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Leon and his wife Wendy of Lusk; daughter Cindy and her husband Dan Haas of Sundance; sisters, Doris Huckfeldt and her husband Fred of Cheyenne and Esther Gilbreath of White City, Ore; 11 grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lusk.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
