Richard Henry Lenz

Services for Richard Henry Lenz were held May 17, 1988 at Peet Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Marvin Temme of Torrington officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Mr. Lenz died unexpectedly May 13.

He was born December 28, 1928 in Lusk. He attended schools in Lusk, graduating from Lusk High School in 1948. As a boy he worked for Kilmer Creamery, delivering milk in Lusk. He served in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952, during the Korean War. He married his wife, Jennie, at Worchester, MA.

Mr. Lenz operated the last dairy farm in Niobrara County from 1953 until 1963, when the creamery closed down. Thereafter, he raised beef cattle, wheat, and hay, and was a cattle order buyer for many years.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the National Cattleman's Association, the American Legion, the Wyoming's Stockgrowers, and Niobrara Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Carrie Lenz.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie; three daughters, Valerie Schreibeis of Laramie, Vivian Fullerton of Casper, and Jennifer Wright of Fountain Hill, AZ; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Lingwood of Sebring, FL, Hugo Lenz of Wheatland and Gene Lenz of Lusk; two sisters, Alma Bostrom, Loveland, CO and Fern Taylor of Aztec, NM. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials to the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
