Funeral service for Mrs. Lewis

Mrs. Elsie Nora Lewis, 80, died in Casper October 11. Funeral service was held last Thursday at 10:30 at Peet Chapel. The Reverend Robert Boutwell officiated at the service and burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Mrs. Gerald Bardo, organist, accompanied Mrs. Samuel M. Thomas and Mrs. Mary Anne Griffith in singing "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden."

Casket bearers were Joe Jones, Gene Tyrrel, Leonard DeGering, Charles Lund, Joe Pfister and Charles Scott.

Elsie Nora Lewis, youngest daughter of Samuel and Johanna Leeling, was born July 18, 1891, at their home on Squaw Creek in Sioux County, Nebraska. When she was twelve years old her family bought a small ranch in the Kirtley community where she lived until her marriage to Thomas Lee Lewis on November 3, 1915. Six children were born, two died at birth.

She made her home the last five years with her daughter Mrs. Noal (Evelyn) Larson in the Node community. She was a member of The Congregational Church of Lusk.

Survivors are sons, Henry W., and Elden L. Lewis of Lusk; daughters, Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Logan (Katherine) Brewster of Ten Sleep; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death.
