Edith Martha McGinnis

Edith Martha McGinnis was born Dec. 3, 1905, to Charles E. Senters and Etta Victoria (Thralls) Senters at Gordon, in Sheridan County, Neb. At her birth she joined three brothers and one sister. Another sister and a brother were born later.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry and four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sister, Irene Vaughan of Lusk, and nieces Maxine Koch of Virginia and Louise Lawrence of California, four great nieces, two great nephews and a wide host of friends.

As a child she moved with her parents to Wyoming where her father was employed on the railroad and when he retired from that he went into ranching near Lusk. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1926, to Henry McGinnis.

The couple purchased and operated a ranch in northern Niobrara County where they earned an excellent reputation for breeders of pure bred Hereford cattle. After Henry suffered a heart attach, the couple sold the cattle and the ranch and retired.

Prior to her marriage she was employed in the telephone office in Lusk. She was an accomplished musician and greatly enjoyed playing for dances throughout the area.

At Edith's request, private family memorial services were held with burial in the Lusk Cemetery.

The family request that remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
