Services for Henry McGinnis Held Saturday

Funeral services for Charles Henry McGinnis, 71, were held Saturday afternoon from the Peet Chapel in Lusk. Mr. McGinnis died December 3 of an apparent heart attack while elk hunting in the Jackson Hole area of Wyoming.

The Rev. Dean Addington of St. George's Episcopal Church officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist and accompanied Mrs. Walter C. Fernau, soloist as she sang "In the Garden" and "Now The Day Is Over."

Casket bearers were Richard Lenz, John Goddard, Rod Geisinger, Elwood Hawkins, Ed Cook, Paul Heany, Joe Klemke and Gaylord Anderson.

Honorary bearers were Allen Sheridan, Bill Miller, Rulo Roberts, John Bruegger, Fred Hansen, Henry Klemke, Otto Klemke, Billy Mill, Ray Reed, Ed Hesco, Dan Hanson, George Mill.

Mr. McGinnis was born at Lusk, October 20, 1898 to Charles F. and Threasa McGinnis. He spent his entire life in Niobrara County except when he attended business college in Omaha, Neb.

He married Edith Senters June 1, 1926 at Lusk. In 1927 they purchased the McGinnis ranch which was the family homestead, from his father. For the past 10 years he has been semi-retired and lived in Lusk.

He was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church of Lusk, The Elks Lodge, Wyoming Hereford Association and the Farm Bureau.

He loved hunting and ranching.

His parents and one sister died previously. Survivors include his widow Edith of the family home; one brother, Tommy of Thermopolis, Wyo.; his step-mother, Mrs. Leona Ritchhard of Chadron, Neb., and her daughter Virginia of California; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Senters, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Austin, and Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Reinig, all of Lusk; two cousins, Mrs. Greta Alexander of Casper and Mrs. Barbara Rees of Lusk.
