Services for Don McKelvey, 54, were Jan. 2, 1997 at United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Finley officiating.

Burial was in the Harrison (Neb.) Cemetery. Memorials are to the Community Hospital Foundation. He died at Community Hospital in Torrington Dec. 31, 1996.

He was born March 8, 1942, to Harlen S. and Bernice (DeKay) McKelvey, at Lusk. He attended grade school at Prairie Center and then graduated from Lusk High School in 1959. He married Judy Seaman Sept. 8, 1962, in Harrison. They moved to Laramie in August 1964, where they lived until his graduation from the University of Wyoming in 1967. They made their home in Torrington and he worked for Jirdon Industries in Morrill, Neb., and later at the Lyman Elevator. In 1995, he opened his own feed business in Morrill. He was a past member of the Goshen County Fair Board, Goshen Ridin' and Ropin' Club, Wyoming Stockgrowers Association and Moose Lodge #602 at Douglas.

Survivors include daughters and their husbands Kris and John Cundall of Gering, Neb., and Darci and Blake Scott of Douglas; son Ross of Torrington; his mother of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother Ron McKelvey of Phoenix; sister Lynett Post of Nassau, Bahamas; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993, his father the three brothers.

The Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
