Edward McKelvey Dies in Lusk Sat.

Edward McKelvey, 78, of Lusk, died Saturday at the Manring Convalescent Home from complications of old age. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from Peet Chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. H.J. Templeton, Mrs. A.F. DeCastro, Donley Unruh and Harry Lyon sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.

Active pallbearers were his grandsons, Mahlon Peterson, Jack, Ronald, Donald and Garland McKelvey and Ivol Martin. Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Christian, Matt Bast, Albert Penn, Lorenz Heller, Victor West and Fred Langdon.

Edward McKelvey was born near Johnstown, Pa. October 22, 1878 and with his parents settled on a farm near Cozad, Nebr. in 1879. Here he grew to manhood in Nebraska and on March 10, 1901 married Miss Edna Peden. They were the parents of seven children.

He and his family moved to Wyoming in 1912 and homesteaded near Van Tassell. In 1939 he moved to Lusk where he has since made his home.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Peterson of Van Tassell and Mrs. Patricia Carlson of Powder River; four sons, Ralph of Lusk; John of Douglas, Harlan of Van Tassell and Mike of Torrington; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one sister. His wife, one sister, one brother, one son and five grandchildren have previously died.
