Ben Meier, 69, Dies Thursday

Ben C. Meier, 69 a retired area rancher, died in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hot Springs at 1:00 a.m. last Thursday.

Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk Saturday with the Rev. Fred Schuette, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Lyle Eddy sang, "I'm But a Stranger Here" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist.

Pallbearers were Adolph Zurcher, Carl Porter, Cy Bonner, Rulo Roberts, Roy Turnbull and John Hammond. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery.

Mr. Meier was born in St. Louis, Mo. March 27, 1896 to Charles and Johanna Meier. He lived most of his life in the Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming area.

He is survived by one brother, Albert of Keeline.

Walter Meier Also Survives Brother


The name of Walter Meier of Alliance, Nebr. was omitted from the list of survivors in the obituary of Ben Meier.

The two men were brothers. Albert Meier of Keeline is also a surviving brother. Ben Meier died in the Veteran's Hospital in Hot Springs October 28.
