Earl H. Foster Dies at Alliance

Earl H. Foster, 78, a retired Sioux County rancher, died unexpectedly at his home in Alliance the evening of April 8. The Alliance Emergency Unit was called to the home shortly after 7 p.m., but Mr. Foster was dead when the unit arrived. His death apparently followed a heart attack.

He was born July 13, 1889, in Kent, Kan., and moved to Alliance in 1954 following his retirement from his Sioux County ranch. He was a member of the Undenominational Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mabel of the family home, three sons, George of Dwyer, Wyo., William of Greeley, Colo., and Howard of Scottsbluff; four daughters, Adeline Foster and Ida Lyman, both of Scottsbluff, Mrs. Clarence (Delma) Wilkie of Marsland, and Mrs. John (Hester) Lyons of Kansas City Kan.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bob (Lola) Romey of Scottsbluff and Mrs. Harold (Lavern) Bower of Albuquerque, NM.; a sister, Mabel Neil of Prescott, Ariz.; and 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Bates-Landa Funeral Home, and burial was in the Hemingford Cemetery.
