Joe Miller Dies Friday in Oregon
Joe Miller, 71, died Friday in Eugene, Oregon of a heart condition.
Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk, Monday with the Rev. Schiller, Presiding Minister of Torrington Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating.
Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Mrs. Harold Lockwood, Mrs. Walter Humphrey and Miss Joanne Humphrey, all of Douglas sang.
Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery with graveside services, conducted by Mr. Schiller and Clifford Cox, Worthy Grand, of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Pallbearers were: Nick Kaan, Z. B. Crinklaw, Don Taylor, Menno Kaan, Roy McLain and John Thon.
Mr. Miller was born August 16, 1892 in Pennsylvania. As a young man he came to Wyoming as an employee of Ohio Oil Company. He was a pioneer of the Oil Industry in Wyoming, first going to Salt Creek and later to Lance Creek when the field there was developed. At one time he operated a trucking business out of Lusk and Casper. While living in Lusk he purchased the farm that is now owned by W. W. Culver. He was a charter member of Lusk Odd Fellows Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Edith of Eugene; two sons Jack of Eugene and Joe of Portland; and eight grandchildren.
