Mrs. George Joss Dies Suddenly After Operation

The sudden death of Mrs. Leona Joss, 37, wife of George Joss of Manville, came as a shock to friends when she died suddenly Monday 14th following a successful operation for cancer. The cause of death was attributed to the forming of a blood clot.

Mr. and Mrs. George Joss and three children have made their home on the well known Horse Shoe Ranch near Manville for many years.

Mrs. Joss was born April 26th 1907 at Scandia, Kansas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marple and was married to George Joss April 1934 at Harrison, Nebraska. She is the mother of three children, Jean, Philip and a baby daughter, Sandra Kay, five months old.

One brother and parents preceded her in death. Surviving her beside her husband and children are three brothers, Milton Marple of Colorado, Lloyd Marple of Wheatland and Leland Marple of Wisconsin, and three sisters, Mrs. E.W. McIrwin of Cheyenne, Mrs. J.H. Wigfied of Encampment, and Mrs. E.W. Dillon of Saratoga.

With the exception of one brother all the rest were present for the funeral services which were held from the Peet Chapel on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Clyde Hampton officiated and Rev. Paul Hoover sang "The Old Rugged Cross" with Mrs. Watson presiding at the organ.

The casket bearers were Rawleigh Reed, Jess Willard, Beryl Fullerton, George Gibson, S.W. McNeil and Fred Kettler. Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery.
