Memorial services for Irvin Paul Patten, 74, were held Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. in Medford, Ore., with the Rev. Delbert Keller of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Patten died at the family home Aug. 3, 1992. He was born May 18, 1918, to Clarence and Etta (Beck) Patten in Manville, Wyo. The family lived around Manville while the children were growing up and in school.

Patten married Ruby Griffith on Feb. 21, 1944, in Grants Pass, Ore.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served from 1941-1945. He was employed by Production Credit Association until 1967. He then worked as a motel manager until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Medford Elks Club and was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #103 of Medford.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby, three children; Teresa Palmer of Vancouver, Wash.; Dewey Patten of Eagle Point, Ore. and Denise McGahuey of Medford; six grandchildren; two brothers, James of Beyfield, Colo. and Lyle of Bandon, Ore.; four sisters; Sadie Wilken of Albany, Texas, Estella Nelson of Jacksonville, Ore., Mildred Wright of Story, Wyo. and Dorothy Lampbert of Rapid City, S.D.

Memorials to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in Portland, Ore., Cancer Fund or charitable organization of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements were under the direction of Conger-Morris Funeral Directors.
