Edwin S. Parmely Dies Here Friday

Edwin S. Parmely, 67, of Lusk died Friday morning in the Spencer Hospital from diabetes. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from St. George's Episcopal Church with Rev. Theodore Foster officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Otto Krekler, Fred Hansen, Thomas Dunlap, Robert Packard, Ralph Jordan and Donald Packard.

Edwin Samuel Parmely was born November 13, 1890 at Miller, S.D. where he grew to manhood. He served with the artillery in World War I and was gassed in the battle of the Argonne Forest. He was awarded the Purple Heart 24 years later.

He moved to Wyoming in 1926 and was engaged in farming and ranch work in the Keeline area until 1945 when he moved to Lusk. He has since been engaged in the trucking business. He was a member of St George's Episcopal Church and a charter member of the Lusk Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was married to Clara Slogget of Lomita, Calif. in Torrington Oct. 27, 1947. Survivors include his wife; one sister, Mrs. Mae Kintigh of Lusk; two brothers, Leonard and Ferrill both of Miller, S.D. His parents, one sister and one brother previously died.
