Private memorial service for Agnes Peet was held Monday, June 22, at Fairmont Mortuary in Denver. Her body was cremated.
Mrs. Peet, 81, died on Saturday, June 20, at the Niobrara County Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born August 12, 1899, in Hitchcock, S.D., to her parents, Bernard and Ella Laverty, where she received her elementary education.
Mrs. Peet graduated from the University of South Dakota and taught school in the State for several years.
After moving to Lusk in 1929 she was married to George Earl Peet in December 1932. She taught school in Lusk for 32 years.
Mrs. Peet was a member of the Baptist Church, the Retired Wyoming Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary, The Order of Eastern Star and the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter 1.
Mrs. Peet was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.
Her ashes will be returned to South Dakota.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. William Johnson, Lodi, Calif., Mrs. Jordan Smith, Littleton, Colo., and one nephew, Mr. Bernard Laverty, Newport, Ore., and several grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Niobrara County Nursing Home.
