Former teacher here dies

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lund, Miss Emma Walter and Mrs. Eva Provost of Lusk returned the first of the week after attending funeral services for Mrs. Roy (Alice) Provost, which were conducted at the Adams Funeral Chapel in Buffalo. Mrs. Provost died Oct. 13 at the hospital in Buffalo.

Mr. and Mrs. Provost formerly resided in the Lance Creek area.

The Rev. Bob Smoot of Moorcroft officiated the funeral, and burial was in Willow Grove Cemetery, Buffalo.

Alive Provost was born on Dec. 5, 1902, at Page, Neb., where she was reared, educated and graduated from high school. She attended Wayne University in Nebraska.

Mrs. Provost had taught school in the Lusk and Lance Creek areas.

In 1925 she married Roy N. Provost at Casper. They moved to Moorcroft in 1960, and in 1970, they moved to Buffalo where she had lived until her death.

Besides her widower, she is survived by one son, Roy G. Provost of Rozet; two daughters, Phyllis Walter of Rozet and Marjorie Eutsler of Missoula; three brothers, Roger Larson of Buffalo, Ralph Larson of Minden, Iowa, and Irvin Larson of Bakersfield; one sister, Florence Michael of Clearwater, Neb.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step-granddaughters.

Alice Provost Service Held


Funeral service was held Oct. 16 in Buffalo for former Lance Creek resident, Mrs. Roy (Alice) Provost, 75. Mrs. Provost died Oct. 13.

Provosts lived on a ranch northeast of Lance Creek and Mrs. Provost taught school in Lusk and Lance Creek. The couple moved to Moorcroft in 1960 and then to Buffalo in 1970. Mrs. Provost was a member of the Gumbo Hustlers extension club for many years.
