Services for Frank Provost Held Sat.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from Peet Chapel for Frank Provost, 74, long time resident of Niobrara County, who died July 30 at the Spencer Hospital from the complications of old age. Rev. Frank Bozart officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

A mixed trio composed of Miss Phyllis Johns, Neoma Taylor and Donley Unruh sang "No Disappointments in Heaven" and "Beyond The Sunset." "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" was played for recessional. Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Active pallbearers were Fred Bertram, Earl Maxwell, Bob Welch, Ivan Maxwell, Fred Sheaman and Owen Harness. Honorary pallbearers were Bryan Burge, W. D. Miller, Gerhard Vick, Walter Schnorenberg Sr., Joe Kuhn, C. E. Marvin and George Gibson.

Frank Provost was born March 4, 1884 at Childers, Okla., the son of Thomas and Julia Provost.

He married Eva Baughman March 6, 1903 in Collinsville, Okla. They had two children, a son Roy of Lance Creek and a daughter Neva, who died in infancy.

They came to Wyoming in 1914, and homesteaded on Cow Creek in 1919. He was employed by the Argo Oil Co. until retiring in 1947. He pumped the first producing well in Lance Creek known as the "28" well in over 27 years.

He first became ill in October 1947 and has since been in failing health. They have made their home in Lusk for the past ten years.

Survivors include in wife, one son, Roy of Lance Creek; one grandson, Roy Eugene of Upton; two granddaughters, Mrs. Warren Walter of Lance Creek and Mrs. Arthur Eutsler of Lusk, and one great grandson, Donald Eutsler. A sister, Viola Wilkison, Florence, Ore.; two brothers, Charles and Gee Provost of Madera, Calif. also survive.
