Richard Anthony Roybal
Richard Anthony Roybal, age 55, of Helena, Mont. died Sept. 13, 1999. Funeral services were held Sept. 17, 1999 at the First Assembly of God Church in Helena. Burial was in the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison, with military honors by the Lewis and Clark County Veterans Council.
Richard was born July 16, 1944, in Fort Collins, Colo. to August T. and Mary (Serna) Roybal. He graduated from high school in Cody, Wyo., and attended college in Powell and Billings, Mont.
In July 1966 he joined the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam.
He married Judy May Hansen, of Lance Creek, on Sept. 24, 1966
He was a dietetics supervisor at the Veteran Administration Hospital at Fort Harrison, Mont., since 1979.
Rich loved the Lord with all his heart and served him to the end. He loved his family and always said his happiest moments were spending time with his sons and especially his little granddaughter, who was the light of his life. Richard was a dedicated and devoted Christian, a member of the First Assembly of God, a deacon of his church, Sunday School teacher and commander of the Royal Rangers for 27 years in Helena.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors of Montana, spending his free time fishing, camping, drawing and working with children.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, his sons, Roger A. Roybal and Richard A. Roybal Jr. and his wife Anne; and his granddaughter Shannon, all of Helena. He is also survived by his mother of Cody; brothers Frank Roybal of Lawton, Okla., Lee Roybal of Rincon, Ga., Ernest Roybal of Cody; sisters Linda Parker of Cowley, Wyo., and Loretta Hecker of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Memorials may be sent in Richards name to the Royal Rangers, in care of the First Assembly of God Church, 2210 Dodge Avenue, Helena, MT 59601
Retz Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of arrangements.
