Loretta E. Schipporeit

Funeral services for Loretta E. Schipporeit, 101, were held Dec. 20, 1999, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Woodburn, Ore., were she was a member. Burial was in the Belle Passi Cemetery.

Mrs. Schipporeit died Dec. 14, 1999, at Hubbard, Ore.

She was born Jan. 27, 1898, at Woolsey, S.D., one of eight Taylor children.

She taught school in South Dakota before marrying Emil Schipporeit and moving to Omaha. Her husband died in 1946, and two years later she moved to Lusk where her mother Lydia Taylor, brothers Bob and Don Taylor and sister Lois Eikenberry were living.

She taught school at Kirtley and attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lusk. In the mid 1950s she earned a teacher's degree at the University of Wyoming. She then taught school in Casper.

She retired in 1963 and moved to Woodburn, Ore. In 1978 she moved to Hubbard, Ore., to live with her daughter Marilyn. She was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her four children: Harold of Salem, Ore.; Kenneth of Woodburn; Marilyn Shulte of Hubbard, and Naomi Konecky of New Jersey; a brother, Martin Taylor of Seattle; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including former Lusk resident Alfred Taylor of Texas.

Memorials may be made to the Woodburn Hope Lutheran Church Pre-school fund, in care of Kenneth Schipporeit, 17101 Boones Ferry Road NE, Woodburn, OR 97871.
