She was born Hattie Fay Purtle in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma, and was 46 at the time of her death. She was reared and educated in Kansas City. On March 17, 1930, she married Earnest Schuricht and came to Wyoming to make her home. She had lived here continuously since and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
