Funeral for Mrs. Seegrist Held in Lusk Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Seegrist, 76, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Peet chapel with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating.

Mrs. Seegrist died in Torrington December 11.

Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Lyle Eddy, accompanied by Mrs. J.P. Watson, organist, sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Pall bearers were Floyd Immesoete, Walter Schnorenberg, Jesse McCormick, Victor West, Joe Jones and James Roberts.

Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

Emma Seegrist, daughter of Amiel and Mary Sweitzer, was born August 27, 1886 in Berlin, Penn. In 1907 she came to Denver and entered nurse training school. She was graduated in 1910.

In 1911 she married Leonard Seegrist in Chadron. They had four sons, Elwin, Earl, Kenneth and Amiel. The family resided in the Whitney, Nebr., area until 1919 when they located on a homestead 3 1/2 miles south of Van Tassell. They retired from the farm in 1940 and made their home in Lusk.

Surviving her are three sons, Elwin of Hot Springs, Kenneth of Lompoc, Calif., and Amiel of Pocatello, Ida.; four sisters, one brother, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1954, and her son, Earl in 1955.
