John Herbert Sheaman

John Herbert Sheaman was born in Upper Lehigh, Pennsylvania, September 26, 1889, and departed from this life on August 26, 1960, at the age of 70 yrs. and 11 months.

While in Pennsylvania, he worked at the coal mines as Stationary engineer. While here, he was confirmed in the First Reformed Church at the age of 18.

On Sept. 9, 1909, he moved to Traer, Iowa, where he was engaged in farming with his parents, then moved to Granada, Minnesota in 1916, where he was united in marriage to Myrtle Jeffries on March 14, 1916.

In January 1919, they moved to Edgemont, South Dakota, then homesteaded in Wyoming, around Mule Creek, moving to Wyoming in March 1921. Here he began work in the oil fields in 1937, which he was engaged in until the time of his death. While here he listened to the Gospel, and in May 1953 chose to walk the way that Jesus taught, and remained true to this choice until death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Myrtle, two sons, Robert of Hat Creek, Wyoming and Samuel of Lawndale, California; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Peterson of Burdock, South Dakota and Mrs. Earl Pearson, of Hat Creek, Wyoming. A son, William died in infancy. Also four brothers: Charles F. of Lance Creek, Wyoming, and Joseph and Harry of Edgemont, South Dakota and Eugene of Chadron, Nebraska, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Schutt of Edgemont, S. Dak. An infant brother, Roy preceded him in death. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.
