Funeral services for Emily Mary Sheldon, 90, will be held Thursday, November 2, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. at Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming, with Pastor Gary Burgess, interim pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Emily Sheldon, a resident of Douglas died Sunday, October 29, 2000 at Michael Manor in Douglas.

She was born May 8, 1910, in Axtell, Kansas, the daughter of George Calvin and Cora Octavia (Perkins) Baker. She was reared and educated in Syracuse, Kansas; graduating from Syracuse High School. She moved to Douglas in 1936, living on a homestead. She worked at the hospital as a cook, in 1949. She moved to Irwin Towers in 1975, living there for 20 years. She had lived at Michael Manor since October 31, 1995. Emily was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and TOPS # 50. She enjoyed typing and letter writing.

She is survived by her three children, Marie Alexander, of Douglas, William "Bill" Kennedy of Lusk, Wyoming, and Mary Stoner also of Lusk; two sisters, Stella Kenton of Lander, Wyoming and Bessie Hotz of Wyomore, Nebraska; one brother, Harry Baker of Lusk; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; 1 sister; and 3 grandchildren. Memorials to Irwin Towers, 120 S., 5th Street, Douglas, Wyoming 82633, would be appreciated by the family.

Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.
