Mary Agnes Smith
Mary Agnes Smith, 55, of Castle Rock, Colo., died on Oct. 5, of heart failure after an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born in Hitchcock, S.D. to Steven and Clementa Laverty. She was reared in Lusk, Wyo. by her maternal aunt and uncle, Agnes and Earl Peet, after the death of her parents.
She attended the University of Wyoming and obtained a bachelor of arts degree in education. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
She married Jordan "Digger" Smith and taught junior high English in Casper, Wyo. After the birth of her second child she devoted herself to homemaking and rearing her two daughters, Christine Carol and Shannon Sue. She also remained active in political and community affairs and was a member of PEO. In 1988, she happily saw the marriage of her daughter, Christine, to Steve Rosenblatt of Denver.
According to her request, there will be no service. She will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you send donations to the University of Wyoming Foundation Fund at Laramie.
She is survived by her husband of 1009-B Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Colo. 80104 and her two daughters.
