John Robert Stallman

Memorial services for John Robert Stallman were held Saturday, May 27 at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Chuck Lucas officiating.

Graveside services were held Sunday May 28 at the Manville Cemetery.

John died May 24, 2000 at the VA Medical Center of complications from a stroke.

He was born September 12, 1922 near Manville to Barney and Hattie (Bridge) Stallman.

He attended the Stallman School and graduated from Manville High School. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from May 1943 to February 1946 as a bomber mechanic.

After the war, he worked as a seismographer throughout Wyoming. He was employed at the Lance Creek oil fields and the Joss ranches before returning to the family ranch in the early 1950's.

He was active in ranching until he moved to Sheridan in 1993.

He enjoyed electronics, mechanics, playing his guitar and irrigating the sagebrush after every rain storm.

Survivors include a brother, Willis R. Stallman, Lusk; one son David Stallman and his wife and two grandchildren, all of Sheridan.

Memorial may be made to either the Sheridan Senior Center or the Lusk Senior Center, in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY. 82801.
