Funeral services for Jerry Talacek, age 82, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday in the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Scott Grimshaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mr. Talacek died Saturday at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk. He was born April 26, 1906, in Berlin, Germany. The family later moved to Prague, Czechoslovakia, and when Jerry was 9 years old, the family came to the United States and settled near White River, South Dakota. He attended schools there and later attended mechanic's school in Fargo, North Dakota. He then worked at a John Deere factory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for a time before moving back to White River. He married Ilene Louise Young in 1946 in Kadoka, South Dakota, and lived there for 12 years before moving to Douglas, Wyoming. There he worked at a service station and operated a welding shop. In 1981, he moved to Lusk where he lived until the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survivors include: his wife, Ilene of Lusk; a daughter, Jeralee of the family home, and one brother.
