Chester I. "Chet" Teter

Chester I. "Chet" Teter, 94, died April 21 at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson, Kan.

Teter was born March 3, 1908, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Jess Melvin Teter and Ethel Arminta Liggett.

He worked for the former Central Fiber Products Co., was a carman with Santa Fe Railroad and was a groundskeeper for USD #308. He was a member of Union Valley Church, the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124, Scottish Rite of Wichita, Oddfellows Lodge of Hutch and Transportation & Communications International Union.

He married Meda E. Bump April 24, 1932, in Lusk. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Robert M. Teter of Springfield, Mo.; one half-brother, Melvin Teter of Hutchinson, Kan.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta McClure.

Funeral services will be held at Elliott Chapel, in Hutchinson, Kan., April 25 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson. Masonic Graveside Services will be conducted by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 AF&AM.
