Last Rites Held Mar. 9 for John Wasserburger

Funeral services for John William Wasserburger were held last Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chadron with Father Edward Flinn officiating. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery north of Harrison. Rosary was recited at the Chamberlain Mortuary Tuesday night.

Pallbearers were Eli, Norbert, Vince, Ralph, Lawrence and Gene Wasserburger.

Mr. Wasserburger, 59, had died unexpectedly the afternoon of March 6 at his ranch in northeastern Sioux County. He was born in Sioux County, the only son of John and Catherine Wasserburger. He attended school near the home ranch and graduated from Sioux County High School. He lived at the ranch until he and his wife moved to Chadron several years ago. He was the operator of the Lumber and Post Co. at Chadron.

Survivors include his widow, the former Alice Fetters of Crawford; a son Bill of Hot Springs, S. Dak.; a daughter, Phyllis Eitemiller of Chadron; and two granddaughters. His parents and a sister, Irene, had previously died.

Among those from the Harrison area who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jordan, Mrs. Florence Eberspecher, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wasserburger, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Geiser, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Semroska.
