Vic West Funeral Conducted Friday

Victor Clarence West, 80, died June 25 at Crawford Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 2:00 from the Peet Chapel in Lusk. Burial was at the Lusk Cemetery.

The Rev. J. Lee Gorman of Harrison officiated.

Mrs. J. P. Watson, organist, accompanied Mr. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Dean Glandt as they sang "the Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Casket bearers were Jack Magoon, Dale Miller, Tom Brott, Lawrence Lewis, William Immesote and John Hammond.

Mr. West was born in Summer, Mo., March 30, 1888 to John and Syrilda Lloyd West. He grew to manhood in the Summer community.

He married Elsie Belle Turner August 14, 1911. They were the parents of five children, Clarence, Roy, Leota, Ruby and Frank.

The couple moved to Van Tassell May 21, 1915, and have resided in that community ever since. In 1961 they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Leota Solick, Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Ruby Brott, Crawford, Neb.; three sons, Clarence of Van Tassell, Roy of Guide Rock, Nebr.; Frank of Whitney, Nebr.; one brother John West of Nehawka, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Wilkie, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; Mrs. Dola Tremaine, Moberly, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

His parents, a brother Roy and a sister Clara died previously.

Out-of-town relatives attending other than his children, were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. West, Nehawka; Mrs. Ida West and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. West , Fairbury, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. William K. Powell, Kirkwood, Mo.; Clayton Turner, Edgerton, Kans.; and Mr. and Mrs. John Turner, Potwin, Kans.
