Mrs. Whitaker Dies Here Mon.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday afternoon at the Peet Mortuary for Mrs. Zelma Whitaker, 84, of Lusk. Mrs. Whitaker died Monday at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro furnished appropriate music.

Casket bearers were Bing Baar, Orval Allen, Martin Brozovich, Roy Turnbull, Stanley Hoy, Roy McLain. Honorary bearers were Walter Tyrrel, Bunt Alter, V. W. Wingren and Floyd Simon.

She was born to Per Person and Christina Lehman Person, January 4, 1883 near Sundsvall, Sweden. She came to the United States in 1893 at the age of 10 and was married to Sherman Hoflinger in 1900 at Centerville, S. Dak. They were the parents of one daughter, Addie. After the death of her husband she was remarried to Guy Whitaker in 1932.

Mrs. Whitaker has spent the past 18 years with her niece, Miss Emma Person at her ranch near Rawhide.

Three sisters and three brothers died previously.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Addie McCormick, one granddaughter, Alice McCormick both of Burbank, Calif.; one grandson Clem McCormick of Orange, Calif.; two nieces, Miss Person of Lusk and Mrs. Anna Larson of Harrison and numerous other nieces and nephews. Out-of-town relatives attending the services were Mrs. Addie McCormick and daughter Alice, Burbank, Calif.; Chris Madsen, Aurora, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Strunk, Yankton, S. Dak.; Mrs. Sam Lundie and son, Logan, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Person, Viborg, S. Dak.; Mrs. Anna Larsen and daughter Lillie of Harrison and Mrs. Linda Larsen of Alliance.
