Mrs. Wilkison Dies in Douglas; Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. Harold (Birdie Elizabeth) Wilkison, 54, of Lance Creek, died unexpectedly at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas Saturday.

Mrs. Wilkison became ill Friday evening and Mr. Wilkison and Roxann took her to Douglas, arriving there about around midnight, where she was hospitalized for observation.

Mr. Wilkison and Roxann returned to Lance Creek that night and learned of her death the next morning.

Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel Tuesday, with Pastor Richards Korns of Manville officiating. Mrs. Richard Korns and Mrs. Jack Hammond sang, "He" and "Going Down the Valley." Mr. A. F. DeCastro was organist.

Casket bearers were Roy Gries, Robert Blaney, Jim Moss, Larry Hall, Warren Walton and Jack Hammond.

Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Roxann Wilkison of the family home and Mrs. Jolene McCallister Heath of Chanete, Kan.; a son, Ronnie McCallister of Baxter Springs, Kan.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Carol Jean Kauno of Green River; two sisters and a brother.
