Goldie Rose Wright

Funeral services for Goldie Rose Wright, 71, were May 14, 1997, at the Lost Springs Community Hall with the Rev. Buddy Hanson of First Southern Baptist Church officiating. Memorials are to the American Heart Association.

She died May 8, 1997, in the emergency room at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas.

She was born March 24, 1926, in Douglas, to pioneer homesteaders Ralph Lawrence and Susie Mildred (Humphreys) Pickinpaugh. She was reared on the family homestead near Shawnee and received her first eight years of education there.

She then attended and graduated from Douglas High School in 1944.

She was married to Wilber O. Wright, whose parents were also pioneer homesteaders, Feb. 14, 1994 in Casper.

They lived on the Wright family ranch near Lost Springs, and then they traveled throughout the Rocky Mountain states working in the oilfields and construction. They returned to the family ranch in 1970.

For the past 10 years, they have resided in Orin. She was baptized at the Southern Baptist Church in Watford City, N.D., in 1957. She enjoyed clipping newspaper articles, collecting trivia, farm animals and going to the Wyoming State Fair.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years; children Ruey Eaton and husband Larry of Vernal, Utah, and Lee R. Wright of El Centro, Calif.; sisters Mary Bunning of Torrington and Susie Mae Lee of Visalia, Calif.; brother Johnie K. Pickinpaugh of Orin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Floyd Pickinpaugh and sister Helen Scott.
