Last Rites Held for Orval Wright

Funeral services for Orval Chester Wright were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Gordon Johnson of Lance Creek officiated at the services and music was furnished by Mrs. Anita Culver, Mrs. Edna DeCastro, George Gibson and Rex Yocum accompanied by J.P. Watson. They Sang "Beautiful Isle", "In The Garden" and "We Are Going Down The Valley".

The casket bearers were Dick Lee, Roy Condray, Hardy Lee, Charlie Henderson, Leonard Gilbert and James Ringer. Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery.

Chester Wright had been a resident of the Keeline community since 1913 and had been in poor health for some time. Several weeks ago he underwent surgery in a Denver hospital but he also suffered from a heart ailment and failed to rally passing away on Sunday, April 18. The remains were shipped to Orin from which point the Peet ambulance brought them to Lusk.

Orval Chester Wright was born Nov. 7, 1886 at Hemmingford, Nebr. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Sherman Wright, and lived there until he was 14 years of age when the family migrated to Loveland, Colorado where he helped his father in a logging camp for a year then they returned to Nebraska.

September 14, 1910 he was married to Mary Ethel Kiester at Hemmingford and in the spring of 1913, with two small children they came to Wyoming.

During the years of the early nineties the family underwent many hardships during drought and depression but in spite of it all, he and his wife raised their family to honorable citizenship.

Surviving him are his widow and six children; Margaret Parmely of Douglas, Wy., Mary Jenkins, Denver, Colo., Orval Wright, Douglas, Wyo., Sherman Wright, Lance Creek, Kenneth Wright, Lost Springs, Wyo. and Marjory at the family home.
