Mrs. Younkin, 74, Dies Thurs.

Blanche Estelle Younkin, 74, died last Thursday at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated.

Mrs. Dale M. Bardo was organist and accompanied Harry Lyon, Lee Johnsonbaugh, Mrs. Robert Bramlet and Mrs. Walter Fernau as they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art."

Casket bearers were Gaylord Anderson, Leonard DeGering, Ed Cook, Joe Klemke, Ed Boner and Ray Freeman.

Honorary bearers were Albert DeGering, Alex Gunn, Rulo Roberts, Robert Scott, Ray DeGering and Henry McGinnis.

Mrs. Younkin was born October 28, 1893 at Alliance, Nebr., to Luella and Sumner Himes.

She was married to Loyde L. Younkin, June 8, 1912 at Alliance, Nebr. They were the parents of seven children. They lived in the Alliance area until 1916 when they moved to the Hat Creek community and homesteaded and lived there until they retired from ranching in 1953, when they moved to Lusk.

Mrs. Younkin became a member of the First Baptist Church of Lusk in 1961. She spent much of her time painting and was a lover of flowers.

Survivors, includes five daughters, Muriel Ortez, Dayton, Ohio; Ruth Bass, Glendo; Doris Leeling, Manville; Nellie Jones, Alliance; Norma Bruegger, Van Tassell; two sons, Vernon Younkin, Cheshire, Ore.; Roy Younkin, Linch, Wyo.; three brothers Bob Himes, Spokane, Wash., Morris Himes, Phoenix; Edward Himes, Alliance; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband, one sister and two brothers died previously.
