Daniel J. Bernard

The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection for Daniel J. Bernard, 49, will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Sam Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery with military honors. He died at Community Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident near LaGrange.

He was born Aug. 24, 1946, the son of Jerome and Lillian (Rosignal) Bernard at Bridgeport, Conn. He received his education there and then served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Alaska and after his discharge he made his home in Colorado Springs, Colo. He lived in Providence, R.I., and in Virginia before moving to Mitchell, Neb., in 1974.

In 1982, he moved to Torrington where he worked in the dry cleaning business. He began his tailoring business in 1983 and later purchased a dry cleaning establishment in Scottsbluff.

He and Jannae Bass were married in Lusk July 21, 1985.

In 1993, he also purchased and operated a store in Torrington and in the summer of 1995 he opened a store in Alliance, Neb.

He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jannae of Torrington; daughter and son-in-law, Brandie and Jimmy Aguallo; granddaughter, Kassandra of Cheyenne; step-children, Ty and Tiffany Johnson of Torrington; mother, Lillian Thibalt of Kissimmee, Fla.; twin brother, Michael of Bridgeport, Conn.; two sisters, Patty Pierelli of Bridgeport, Conn., and Debbie Bernard of Stratford, Conn.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial gifts to Alcoholics Anonymous would be appreciated by the family.

Friends may call at The Colyer Funeral Home Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and through the Rosary.
