John H. Bowman
John H. Bowman Sr., 66, of Torrington, Wyo., formerly of Loveland, died Jan. 2, 1995, at Community Hospital in Torrington.
He was born March 7, 1928, in Mead, to Ole C. and Nellie Sarah Weakley Bowman. He married Mary Grace Cole on Dec. 4, 1961, in Denver.
He earned his GED and entered the U. S. Army at the age of 22. He worked in construction in his younger years and later ranched and farmed most of his life.
Mr. Bowman lived in Loveland until 1963; after that he remained in Colorado and Wyoming and moved to Torrington in 1993. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Loveland. He enjoyed horses and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Mary G. Bowman, Torrington; three sons, Thomas Bowman, California, John H. Bowman Jr., Denver, and E. Luke Bowman and wife Paige, Prospect Valley; two daughters, Susan Kitzman and husband Dennis, Keenesburg, and Cheryle Y. Gettman, Brighton; a stepson, David Compton and wife Valerie, Logan, Utah; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one nephew.
Services were held Friday, January 6th at Allnutt Hunter Chapel.
Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland.
