Conrad "Jack" Carlson, 79, Blackduck, Minn. died Saturday, March 17 at Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 21 at First Presbyterian Church, Blackduck, with the Rev. David Gurthie officiating. Arrangements were by the Snustad Funeral Home.

Mr. Carlson was born Feb. 28, 1905, at Wabeno, Wisc. He married Frances Burns Jan. 2, 1929, at Hot Springs, S. Dak. They homesteaded north of Lance Creek moving to Langor Township near Blackduck in 1941, to Birch Township in 1972 and to Blackduck in 1980.

He belonged to the NFO, Farmers Union and the creamery board. He had served on the Langor School Board and town board and was an organizer of the Jolly Trail Riders of Blackduck. He was a rancher.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Phil, Beaverton, Ore., and Arthur, Titusville, Fla.; a daughter, Carolyn McLaughlin, Massapeque, N.Y.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbert, Nashville, Tenn.; Harlan, Hatchkiss, Colo., and Chester, Wabeno, Wisc. and a sister, Julia Hudson, Tomahawk, Wisc.

Frances Carlson is the sister of Genevieve Heine of Lusk.
