Final Rites For Roger Thon Held Saturday at Chapel; Burial Here

Thon Book No. 3

Final services for Roger Eldon Thon, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Thon, were held from the chapel of the Peet Mortuary at two o'clock, Saturday afternoon, December 16th, with Rev. Frank Schweissing, pastor of the First Baptist Church of this city, reading last rites. The child passed away at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital last Wednesday as a result of intestinal complications.

Adding much to the service was the singing of "Brahms Lullaby" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" by a quartette composed of the Misses Clea Mathewson, Dolores DeCastro, Kay Morgan and Shirley McCune. They were accompanied on the chapel organ by Mrs. Judson P. Watson.

Bearing the remains to their final resting place in the Lusk Cemetery were Myra Nelson, Verla Bartos, Donna Lee Osborne, and Lois Eddy.

Roger Eldon Thon was born in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Thon, and at the time of his demise was but two months and 24 days old.

Surviving the child other than his parents are two brothers, Robert, 6, and Ronald, 4: his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jalmer Thon, a number of aunts and uncles and numerous other relatives.
