Ulysses S. Grant Dies At Douglas June 2
Ulysses S. Grant, 89, one of Converse County's first and foremost citizens, died June 2 at the Memorial Hospital in Douglas following an illness of six weeks.
He was a brother of Theron S. Grant, formerly of Keeline, and was well known in this area, having gone to Converse County in 1886. Burial was in the Glenrock Cemetery Friday beside his wife who died in 1923.
He was born in Vermont in 1864, the son of D.S. and Frances S. Grant. He moved from Iowa to Wyoming homesteading in Boxelder Park where he has lived since.
Surviving besides his brother are a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Herzog, both of Casper, four sons and five daughters. He was an uncle of Neil Grant and Mrs. Pete Germann of this county.
