Nettie E. Pfister Of Edgemont Dies In Omaha Nov.10

Mrs. Nettie E. Pfister, the wife of Richard Pfister of South Dakota, died in Omaha, Nebraska November 10, having reached the age of 67. Death came following a long illness.

Rosary services were held at the Peet Chapel Monday evening at 7:30 with the Rev. Father Goell of Edgemont officiating. Requiem High Muss was conducted at the St. Leo’s Catholic Church of this city Tuesday morning at 10:00 o’clock by the Rev. Father Goell.

The music was provided by a mixed quintet, which included the Misses Elizabeth and Pauline Bruch, Mrs. Mary Bruch and George Gibson all of Lusk, and Pat Cologan of Edgemont. Solos were provided by Mrs. H. J. Templeton, George Gibson and Pat Cologan. Mrs. Henry Wasserburger presided at the Church organ.

During the mass, the Rev. Father Goell read a letter from the priest who attended Mrs. Pfister in Omaha, stating that she was instrumental in the prayer for peace offered at all University of Nebraska football contests. Mrs. Pfister had suggested this to the Omaha priest a few weeks prior to her death. The University officials are using her suggestion and a prayer for peace follows the singing of the “Star Spangled Banner.”

Pallbearers taking the remains to the final resting place in the Lusk cemetery included: Ralph Olinger, T.A. Godfrey both of Lusk; Oscar Jones, Everette Bird, both of Bright, Wyo.; Guy Stickney, Harry Porter, Bill Schoonamaker, Joe Kane and Joe Trotter all of Edgemont, So. Dak.; and Fred Campbell of Newcastle.

Nettie Burney was born in Omaha, Nebr., September 16, 1883, the daughter of Herman and Josephine Johnson Burney. She resided in Omaha until her marriage to Richard Pfister on November 11, 1907.

Mr. and Mrs. Pfister moved to Lusk and settled on the Box X ranch northeast of Lusk. Later they moved to the Ed Wieson ranch on Mu1e Creek. Since 1916, Mr. and Mrs. Pfister have maintained a home in Edgemont, where Mrs. Pfister had been a member of the P.E.I, Sisterhood for many years.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Richard Pfister of Edgemont, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hale of Edgemont, a son, Richard Gordon of Lusk, two brothers, Gordon and George Burney of Omaha and three grandchildren.
