Mrs. Edna Carey Dies in Idaho

Note: The headline was printed with "Mrs. Edna Carey", but the body of the obituary used "Emma Margaret Carey". The Idaho Death Index indicates that Emma Margaret Carey, born 3/23/1900, died on 3/31/1949 in Stibnite, Valley County, Idaho. The death date printed in this obituary has been used in this data base.

Emma Margaret Carey, route one, Nampa, Idaho, died at a Stibnite, Ida. hospital April 14 at the age of 49 years following an extended illness.

Mrs. Carey was born March 23, 1900 at Pierce, Neb., and was reared in that state. Oct. 26, 1918 she married Benjamin F. Carey at Jireh, Wyo. The couple resided in Wyoming until coming to Nampa Nov. 23, 1942.

Mrs. Carey had gone to Stibnite to visit her family when she became ill and was confined to the hospital there in January.

Survivors include her husband who resides in Nampa; three sons, Frank of Stibnite, Marion of Everett, Wash., and LaVerne of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs. Jim Hughes of Stibnite, Mrs. Art Gibbons of Boise, and Mrs. Carl Hickey of Grangeville; two brothers, Leo Brahms of Stibnite and Ervin Brahms of Moorcroft, Wyo.; four sisters, Mrs. John Schuricht and Mrs. Orville Hayes both of Moorcroft, Mrs. Alf Lincoln of Upton, Wyo., and Mrs. Oscar Lincoln of Hood River, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at Nampa and interment was in Kohlerlawn cemetery there.
