Two Local People Killed in Separate Car Accidents

Two local people were killed in seperate Wyoming car accidents this past week. Olen Berg, 32, was killed Friday when the car he was driving turned over, after blowing a tire near Moneta, Wyo. Mrs. Sula Paulsen, 68, died Tuesday afternoon in a Douglas hospital about two hours after the car in which she was a passenger hit a bridge over Boxelder Creek 17 miles west of Douglas.

In the Berg accident Olenís father, Ralph, 60, also of Lusk, was critically injured and taken to a Casper hospital. The elder Mr. Berg also has a history of a heart ailment. Mrs. Ralph Berg, 59, and her mother, Mrs. Claude Van Blarcum, 80, were hospitalized in Riverton for cuts bruises and other injuries.

Funeral services for Olen Berg were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk Wednesday with the Rev. Frank Bozart of the Open Bible Church officiating.

Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Mrs. Edna DeCastro, Mrs. Maude Bonner, Harry Lyon and Al Davenport sang, "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Pallbearers were: Lee Cundall, Brownie Waters, Martin Duff, Don Sanborn, Harry Brown and Mike Hammer.

Olen Berg was born August 11, 1931 at Wendover, Wyo. He spent most of his life in the Wheatland and Lusk communities, until 1950 when he enlisted in the Marines.

He was discharged In 1959. Since that time, he has made his home with his parents in Lusk.

Besides his parents he is survived by two daughters; Frances and Susan of California; four sisters, Mrs. Gerry Tollman and Mrs. Clara Belle Payne of Lusk, Mrs. Jean Robinson of Cody and Mrs. Violet Carnes of San Diego; and one brother, Gordon of Cody.
