Rueben Earl Boatright
Funeral services for Rueben E. Boatright, 70, were held Wednesday morning, November 4, 1987 at the Peet Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Frank Bozart officiated. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.
Active bearers were Bebe Reed, Walt Reed, Lloyd Adams, Charlie Russell, Jack Marchant, Clayton Dixon. Honorary bearers were Murray Butler, John Jassman, Jim Reed, Leonard Zerbst, Jim Pfister and Roy Rankin.
Mr. Boatright died Saturday, October 31, 1987. He was born April 12, 1917, near Harveyville, KS, the son of Hugh and Lettie Boatright. He grew up in Kansas until the death of his parents when he moved to Wyoming and lived with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Boatright. Later he lived with Paul and Ada McDaniel, who made him a part of their family.
Reuben married Violet Bertram on March 7, 1940 in Chadron, NE. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II in the European Theater and later in the South Pacific. After coming home to Lusk, he worked in the oil fields for awhile then returned to ranch work. He continued to work on ranches in Wyoming.
He is preceded in death by five brothers and his parents.
Survivors include his wife Violet of Lusk; two daughters, Terry Brown of Lusk and Cindy Olson of Malta, MT; six grandchildren; his foster parents, Paul and Ada McDaniel of Lusk; six sisters, Eva Feuillan of Topeka, KS, Marjorie Walstrom and Florence Gores both of Long Beach, CA, Luella Mathany of Kansas City, MO, and Irene Jones and Louise Coombs, both of Denver, CO; four brothers, Caroll R. Boatright of Fairbanks, AK, Jack McDaniel of Miles City, MT, Bill McDaniel of Lusk and Tom McDaniel of Edgemont, SD; many nieces, nephew and friends.
For those who wish, memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
