Glen Clifford "Cliff" Cox

Clifford "Cliff" Cox passed away on Nov. 1, 2001, in Chadron, NE. Cliff was born on Sept. 13, l9l5 and was preceded in death by his father and mother, Potter Cox and Jesse Crawford Cox, and seven brothers and sisters.

A funeral service was held in Lusk at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 5, with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating. Internment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Cliff was raised on the family farm near Keeline, graduated from Manville High School, and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie. On June 12, 1935 he married Vera Kintigh at the Kintigh family home in Keeline. A son, Glen Allen Cox, was born on Nov. 12, 1937. Glen unfortunately died at a very early age on Jan. 20, 1962 shortly after completing an enlistment in the military service.

Cliff and Vera were married for 46 years, living in the family home in Lusk. Vera died on Dec. 24, 1980.

Cliff was a very skilled mechanic and worked for Niobrara County for three years and then completed 34 years of service with the Wyoming Highway Department, retiring on Oct. 31, 1980. Cliff was a 50 year member with the IOOF and was an accomplished bowler and golfer.

On Sept. 2, 1981, Cliff married Erma Parmely Tschacher, a friend of many years. Cliff and Erma traveled for many years and enjoyed living in winter homes in Arizona and Utah and spending summers in the Lusk area. Since June of 2000 they have resided at the Prairie Pines Lodge in Chadron, Neb. Cliff is survived by his wife, Erma, stepsons Floyd Tschacher and wife Donna, Darell Tschacher and wife Judie, step grandchildren, Randal Tschacher and wife Patricia, Tamera Tschacher Young and husband Scott, Kendall Tschacher, Krystin Tschacher Leonhardt and husband Jeff, and step great grandchildren Ryan, Aubree, and Allee Young, Dawn McDaniel, and Brandon Tschacher.

Surviving in-laws include Lloyd Coleman of Torrington, and Erdine Couch of Hot Springs, S. D., as well as nieces Lyola Brown, Cody, Velma Ruth Melnrick and Shirley Mae Larson, Trout Creek, MT., Betty Lois Richards, Richland, Wash., Ken Apostolos, Casper, Carol Kent, Ore., Martha Smith, address unknown, Ronda Moore, Rapid City, S.D., Lisa Woepple, Hot Springs, S. D., and nephew Ken Couch of Buffalo Gap, S.D.

Cliff's family and friends gathered Nov. 5 in Lusk to celebrate his 86 wonderful years of life on earth. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to: Niobrara Senior Center, PO Box 928, Lusk, WY 82225.
