Daughter of Chuck Vaughan Dies in Ill. Of Yellow Fever
Mrs. Ninette Hardin, the only daughter of Charles C. "Chuck" Vaughan, died at 10:00 o'clock Tuesday evening in a Springfield, Ill. hospital after being ill two weeks with the rare disease in that area of yellow fever. How she contracted the disease is not known as it was the only case in the entire state. Friday serum used to combat the disease among army personnel in the Pacific area was flown from San Francisco, but to no avail.
Mrs. Hardin's husband was electrocuted while working on a high line at Springfield April 6, 1950. She leaves two children, a son 6 and daughter 4. She had been employed as a bookkeeper in a bank there. Her husband's family lives in the same community.
Mrs. Hardin had not lived here, but had lived at Sheridan and Chadron as a girl. She was born in Idaho.
Mr. Vaughan left here by car Wednesday morning and hoped to catch a plane at Cheyenne. Funeral services will be held the last of the week at Srpingfield and she will be laid beside her husband.
