Susan Lucille Borner Kant

Susan Lucille Borner Kant, age 88, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Shepherd of the Valley in Casper. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Interment followed at Lusk Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper.

Susan was born Nov. 24, 1919 in Shell, Wyoming, the youngest of eight children. When she was young, her family moved to Cody where she spent her childhood. In 1940 she met and married Walt Kant in Thermopolis, Wyo. After moving around for years with the railroad, they settled in Lance Creek with their four young children.

Susan, also known as Plummer by her family, loved reading and taking care of her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was a member of the Gumbo Hustlers Club and Lance Creek Community Church. One of her favorite past times was sitting on the porch watching the critters that were always around - cats, sage hens, turkeys and deer. She liked spoiling the critters as much as she like spoiling the grandkids. She collected music boxes and liked playing them all at the same time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tobias Borner and May (Nettie) Hale Borner, two brothers, five sisters, her husband Walt and daughter Jerri Lynn.

She is survived by her three sons; Michael (Carol) and Pat (Ruby), both of Douglas and Bill of Chadron, Neb.; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
