Services Held for W. J. Noble

Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon for William J. Noble, 85 years old, who died in Laramie, Wyoming, May 18th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mike Popp. Rev. A. I. Bernthal, pastor of the Lutheran church, officiated at the service, which was held in the church.

Mr. Noble had been sick about four weeks prior to his death in Laramie, and suffered from various chronic conditions. The body was sent to Lusk Saturday from the Stryker mortuary in Laramie. Pallbearers at the funeral were C. Klemke, Oscar Bostrom, Henry Lenz, Fred Baars, Menno Kaan, and Julius Schley. Music at the service consisted of two vocal selections by a quartet composed of Henry Kaan, Otto Klemke, Mr. P. J. Owens, and Mr. John Rice. They were accompanied by Mrs. Bernthal, pianist.

Mr. Noble located on a homestead about 10 miles southeast of Lusk in 1914, and lived there until he moved into Lusk in 1936. He moved to Clearwater, Nebraska, and later to Laramie. He was born in Blue Island, Ill., in 1854.

Out-of-town relatives who were in Lusk for the funeral included Mrs. William Ludwig and son from Battlecreek, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Contois and daughter, Naoma, from Clearater, Nebraska, and Mrs. Mary Hall, daughter of the deceased, from Sturgis, So. Dak.
